Thought I'd just say that I ran into this problem after upgrading Gutsy
to Hardy, i.e. slow connection, 50% signal strength, but that running
the command 'sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M' has fixed both aspects of the

I think I still get this problem. sometimes I change my status to/from
invisible from/to another status, and the icon that says whether the buddy
is blocked while I'm invisible still is by the buddy where it should not be,
or it is not everywhere it should be. But after clicking on that buddy, the

Kubuntu 8.04 beta - live CD
At least as of 8.04 beta, the desktop live CD does not include "dmraid".
Since "fake" raid is becoming quite common, and dual booting is unfortunately
still too common, it would be useful to be able to install Ubuntu on a shared
"fake" raid volum
Ok. I removed saa7134-alsa from my /etc/modprobe.d/blackklist.d, so
saa7134-alsa gets loaded (I confirmed it was loaded using lsmod). So,
I'm attaching the needed outputs. Follows below.

Got the same bug when running Hardy on a HP Compaq 6715b. At least the
system starts, but I guess not everything is working correctly.
The fan is also running very often at full speed, when I'm actually not
doing anything on the computer.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this?
