I was thinking about this bug today and I remembered a problem I had
with Gutsy at first. Basically, my laptop a Dell E1505 has a kill
switch for the wireless and bluetooth. It can be setup in the BIOS.

Some more testing, this time with 'extremetuxracer' (3D game from Ubuntu
sources).
This game works fine on my desktop machine (Radeon 9600 XT) with the open radon
driver.
On the Thinkpad the game appears to freezes after 2-5 seconds. The music
continues, though.

I've experienced the same problem after upgrading from gusty to hardy a couple
of days ago.
I've removed 70-persistent-net.rules to force udev to regenerate it and the
boot delay disappeared.
Maybe old rules cleanup should be automated at upgrade time?

The sudo+hostname bug/inconvenience happened to me. I hosed my hosts
file when upgrading from 7.04 to 8.04. Sudo didn't want to do anything,
but gksudo worked fine. The network-dependent sudo failed, but the
X11-dependent gksudo was OK. Redundancy saves the day.

There is no need in listing cities that are wrong.
Almost all cities are incorrect, as the timezone that is nearest the
position of the city is selected, not the one the place is really in.

I am using Hardy Beta.
After copying a file to FAT32 partition, I reboot into Windows to access
the file. The file is missing, then a reboot back to Ubuntu will find
that the file also does not exist anymore in Ubuntu.

I installed Hardy Beta 1 today and find that this problem is persisting.
No sound card has been identified. When I ran the "lspci -v" command the
card was shown in the device list as follows.

Pretty simple, I opened F-spot to get a quick look at it, but when I
tried to close it, it just sat there frozen until the dialog box came up
saying something about the program not responding, etc.
This was shortly after installing the 8.04 beta for the first time.
