Oops, I just realized that the terminology I used in my previous comment
might not be correct. I think what's being written is the master boot
record (MBR), not the boot loader. The Ubuntu installer most likely
does write the boot loader to the USB drive, but it overwrites the MBR
on the internal

shortcut gets stuck. I have experienced Ctrl+W getting stuck in the
past. Also, in many cases the repeat gets stuck in a desktop-switching

And in case you're wondering, the reason I leave /dev/hda1 and /dev/hdc1
unconfigured is due to the fact that RAID volumes will overwrite the Sun
disklabel.
