i had other apps open but just instant messaging - movie and system
monitor on one side with of course amor running, and so the memory
started at about 150-155mb - opened up totem it went to at about 160mb
and played a movie BW it went to about 163mb so I assume 163 - 165 or

I was able to trace down the problem to "libc6_2.6.1-1ubuntu10_amd64.deb"
(ld-linux-x86-64.so.2).
I was able to correct the problem by downloading
"libc6_2.6.1-1ubuntu9_amd64.deb", installing it via dpkg, and then doing a full
system upgrade via apt-get upgrade (libc6_2.6.1-1ubuntu10_am

Same issue here. I run a fresh Gutsy installation (no upgrade) with
nvidia-glx-new and compiz, but xserver-xgl not installed. And the screen goes
blank after 20min of playback on all my players (totem, mplayer, vlc...). 20min
was my setting for screensaver in the screensaver preferences, but
I meant only the boot loader part of MBR, since partition table can
change and it not wise to change it.
but something which perform the uninstallation need to remove the Linux
partitions.

Binary package hint: pidgin
Usually pidgin asks, what to do with a file, when one drags something into
the chat-window from nautilus' filemanager or desktop.
Pidgin does not do so when trying to drag a file from an NAS (connected via
LAN and sharing via SMB, here
The 22/11/2007 asus released linux drivers for the u3000 mini and the
u3100 mini tuners. Moreover, they release a DVBT linux player. I don't
know if the driver and the software work well, but I will try it. You
can download the driver and the software on the asus website.

Confirmed on Packard bell with Ubuntu 7.10 and Evolution 2.12.1 (in Italian).
Exchange is Windows Server 2003 R2.
This is very bad because make Ubuntu not usable for me.
