The same thing just happened while I was using nautilus and simply
clicked on a file's property menu. The file property window appeared

I have a similar problem on Gutsy and only a hard computer restart
helps. I get a black screen when either switching users or logging out!

There is a new specification for desktop files with Type=MimeType[1]. I
changed ksimus/x-ksimus.desktop to ksimus/x-ksimus.xml according to the
spec. Also, I replaced "x-ksimus.desktop" to "x-ksimus.xml" in
configuration files, so that it installs correctly.

This works for me as far as suspend/resume goes (yay!), but oddly I
still get the artefact if I let GRUB time out when booting. It makes me
wonder what's different between booting normally, and having a timer run
out, then booting. Perhaps it's a separate issue from this bug.
