having network drive which mounted through nfs in home.
I normally put my laptop to suspend and then bring over the same to

I've tried all the old drivers and the new beta and still had lockups.
I noticed that one of my network cards would die when it happened.
/proc/interrupts showed nvidia and eth1 sharing the same IRQ. Since
moving the NIC to another slot it hasn't locked up yet (several days
now).

I believe the problem cited here is the same or similar to what I experienced
by updating a Feisty system.

You would still need different packages for Kubuntu and Ubuntu since
kfmclient is not available in GNOME. I wonder how GNOME is implementing
this. (Or for that matter, how OpenSUSE or Fedore implement this in
their KDE desktops).
