I have the same problem on gutsy (coreutils 5.97-5.3ubuntu).
A workaround is to specify as a first operation "0 min" (so without a +
or - sign, as Tino suggests) and then the actual operation. e.g. :
date -d "2007-03-23 21:01 0 min -10 min"
At least for me, it works.

I've got this problem too. After a few minutes the rt61 generates an error, and
the wifi card stops working.
Removing and inserting the rt61 module with rrmod and modprobe makes the wifi
card restart working,
but neither this condition is stable: after a few minutes the problem happens
again.

Have upgraded my fathers machine from 7.04 to 7.10 using dist-upgrade.
All updates have been applied.
Issue is quite serious as it seems to prevent sometimes a network connection
from being established, does not acquire ip number through DHCP then. Also
regularly the ip address is being dropped.

I installed HPLIP GUI.
When the printer is "powered on", HPLIP GUI sees the printer as idle.
When I "power if off" and do a refresh in HPLIP GUI, it sees it as busy (for
ever).
I don't know if "powered on/off" are the right terms, may be
active/standby are more appropriate.

now. I get a usable desktop after 20 seconds and there is far less HD

How I solved this problem:
I uninstalled the broken libgphoto2 package from synaptic.
I ran the command whereis to see if libgphoto was installed somewhere
It gave me /usr/local/lib/libgphoto2* etc
I went to /usr/local and moved all libgphoto2 related libraries to a backup
folder.
Then installing
I belive this bug also affects Debian, so I've added it, pending
confirmation.

I've attached a portion of my syslog as the wireless followed by vpn is
activated.
Once the VPN is logged in I start seeing errors like...

I too have this problem on a generic Pentium 4 system with a single Ethernet
card. Here are my specifics:
dom0 is gutsy

I have a P4P800 based system that originally had Edgy installed from the
install CDROM. This was upgraded to Feisty and thence Gutsy. However
only the 2.6.20-16.28 kernel of the 2.6.20-16 series runs on this
machine, no other 2.6.20-16 series kernel boots. 2.6.17 series ker
Why are you still using acpi_fakekey? Seriously guys, those acpi bodges
are horrific. I don't think you can blame gnome-power-manager in this
case - it's just doing what it's told.

Binary package hint: update-manager
The orange icon in the notification area which indicates new updates
looks good when the panel is set at a width of 24, but blurs out when
you expand its thickness. I use a width of 48. All other icons in the
notification area scale up well
System completed its rebuild of the raidsets in single-user mode with no
errors of any description. Looks like there may be some correlation
between usage, and also whether or not the system is operating in
single-user or multi-user mode, and the errors.

Ah, sorry, please ignore my former comment. It was a corrupted DVD-RAM
disc that causes these messages. Further testing with good discs shows
that it all seems to work fine again in Gutsy.
