I did some home-directory cleanup right after upgrading to Gutsy. I
know that I deleted some ~/.directories like ~/.local, and ~/.cache,
assuming programs would recreate whatever they need. The next day I
awoke to trackerd using over 1GB of memory. Did the one cause the

Try putting the pcmcia and yenta_socket modules in the blacklist
[ In the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist append
blacklist pcmcia
blacklist yenta_socket
] and reboot.

I've tried epiphany in Debian Etch. The problem doesn't exist there.
It does, however, exists in Ubuntu Feisty and Gutsy.

I was able to delete the module from the busybox shell and then boot
into the LiveCD, and direct rendering is now working. Yay! And thanks

These are really the important options.
They allow you to change the cpufreq governor easily for AC and for BATTERY.
The point of this BUG is: You don't have to edit them by hand using
gconf-editor.
These options are already available at the Power Management UI, but they are
hidden.

I too have this problem. I upgraded in Gnome, then KDE's Adept keeps
hounding me to upgrade, which I can't because I'm already there.
Strange bug, though not critical. It simply doesn't properly identify

As far as i am concerned, this can be marked "fixed". As I recall, there
was another update to xserver-xorg-video-intel and once that was
installed, I could boot the latest kernel version and get X to work. For
what it's worth, I installed from Tribe 4 and have basically just let
the system update
I confirm this bug too, with wmp54g v4.1 card. Network-Manager doesn't
reconnect correctly to my wireless network when opening my computer, I
always need to manually connect at each boot and sometime it fails to
connect.

Fonts in VirtualBox admin look huge and hor
I am running a P105-S6177 with bios 3.30 and gutsy, modified dsdt or not
with no boot options = no sound, i added the acpi_osi=!Linux as my dmesg
was stating to try that, the error went away but still no luck. if i use
acpi=off i have sound but that isnt an option as this is a laptop so i
need acpi

I can confirm that this bug is still present in the latest package in
Gutsy. I made the (very easy) fix Jerry Chong recommends above, and
iriverter loads without any errors.
Since this is a simple change to one file, it's a bit disappointing that
it hasn't been fixed yet...

I don't think this is a compiz issue. I installed from scratch 7.10 and
everything works. Also a test account was all fine. X, compiz, keyboard,
all fine.
Then I took the harddisk with the /home from another 7.04 install and
tried to login to those users (after updating /etc/passwd of course). I

It just reset my brightness to 50% (less than it was before), so this
bug, at least for me, doesn't always reset to 100% when AC is used. I
also would like to note that this didn't happen in Feisty.
