Thanks to Sitsofe Wheeler, Kernel 2.6.20-14 is running well, with the
restricted nvidia drivers.
I just typed
sudo depmod
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart
and everything worked.
I hope this was just an Update-Problem an will no longer appear in the
final Release.
P.S.: I installed the nvidia drive
I found it in feisty; I'm not sure whether its been addressed in gutsy
or not. Basically, if your local network has a .local domain on it, it
should NOT start up.

I have been running Gutsy Gibbon for a few days - gnome-panel consumes
vast amounts of memory in what appears to be a continuous leak which is

I am experiencing this problem as well, although I found a fix. I
removed the file $HOME/.texmf-config/xdvi/XDvi and the error message
stopped appearing. Even commenting out the entire file didn't work; I
had to remove it. The file is attached.

Another confirmation. I also couldn't get the drivers working with
manual installation of the drivers off nvidia's website.

I've come across this problem, and mounting NFS shares with 'nolock'
worked for me. It also (indavertently) fixed similar problems I was
having when sharing my ~/.mozilla-thunderbird directory over NFS (for
roaming mail).

Pleople with fresh installs seem not to be affected by this, and I was able to

Ok, tried this with the gutsy RC Live CD and video played fine, meaning
I have a messed-up configuration. I suppose I'll just wait until the
official release and do a fresh install, unless someone wants to walk me
through troubleshooting my configuration.

Maybe I am wrong, but it think in the upstream tarball (gnome-
themes-2.20.0.tar.gz) includes all themes and they would be installed to
DATADIR/themes/. The decision which theme belongs to which package seems
to be done only in the debian/gnome-themes*.install files in the source
package.

you select? Was it "Internet Printing Protocol (ipp)", or "Other"?
At what point did you see an error message (i.e. after clicking which
button)? What was the exact wording of the error message you saw?

indicate this seems to be random. I noticed it again last night with
KDE4base. I have not been able to see a pattern is the offsets.
