I have a D610 and it is behaving the same. I upgraded from Feisty to

Kernel 2.6.23 is out and claims to have included realtek alc268 support.
Anybody who tested and confirmed that (sound working without patches and no
alsa recompilation)?

I could finally test ubuntu gutsy and found out: it is broken,
hotplugging usb smart card reader does not work.
the problem is simple: /dev/bus/usb/* has device files in ubuntu gutsy,
but /proc/bus/usb is an empty directory. the kernel event gives us a file
name in /proc/bus/usb :(

For me it's simply a matter of start rhythmbox, click the update all
feeds button, wait for a podcast to download and then rhythmbox will
freeze. I haven't done enough testing of the autmatic updating to know
whether it fails in the same way, it's worked once successfully.

this latest patch works on top of the current openct version in universe.
it is as small as it can get.
with it: plug in a usb smart card reader, works.
without it: plug in a usb smart card reader, does not work. you can work around
with "sudo /etc/init.d/openct restart" but that
is very ugly, and
I wrote earlier that I suffered this bug when updating an IBM T30 laptop
from Feisty to Gutsy. What I omitted to say was that this laptop had
undergone a number of online updates prior to this one. I do not
remember which version I started with but it has probably only had on-
line updates since 6.
Additional Info:
When i use echo -n -1 > /sys/... paramters/autosuspend AND unloaded ehci with
modprobe -r ehci_hcd i get the same errors as with
echo -n 2 > /sys/.. /parameters/autosuspend with ehci_hcd loaded, the only
option that works for me is:
echo -n 2 > /sys/.../autosuspend and an unload
It happens in Gutsy too, with all patches applied on 20071011. I guess
it was just temporarily fixed and broken again ;-) ;-) ;-)
