I had the exact same error occur when trying to upgrade to Kubuntu 7.10.
The upgrade failed and when I tried to restart the upgrade I kept
getting this error.
After manually running dpkg --configure -a the problem seems to have
been solved.

If you're having kernel hard locks, that's a completely different bug
from this. I recommend opening a new bug, and providing the standard
kernel information (lspci -vvnn, dmesg, etc.) Boot in recovery mode and
see if you can see anything when it locks.

I can confirm this with the latest kernel in gutsy, not sure if it worked on
feisty (I only installed gutsy on this one).
Does anyone know if a fix may enter gutsy before the final release ?

Kernel freezes 1/3 through boot on my Toshiba Satellite 4600 with
unlucky kernel -13 Ok with the previous kernel, except for the missing
wireless driver. Booting the -13 rescue from the grub menu freezes with
a register dump - would this be in a log file anywhere so I could post
it?

It may be a new bug, but it certainly seems to be related to this one, as the
only systems affected by the kernel lockup are the ones that needed the
wireless drivers. I have installed the new kernel on a variety of machines and
I don't think it is just a coincidence.

I found out that the
moveInputFocusToWindow: gnome-terminal
is triggered by a "EnterNotify" event. The findTopLevelWindowAtScreen()
returned "gnome-terminal" there. It seems to be only triggered if the
focus policy is *not* ClickToFocus.
Could someone confirm that only FocusFollowMouse triggers

Confirming on Gutsy (i386). I installed kobodeluxe-dbgsym to get a
meaningful backtrace and enabled core files with ulimit -c unlimited,
but after that kobodl stopped crashing.

I have tracker 0.6.3-0ubuntu2 installed and I have a massive slowdown
because of it. It uses about 170MB of RAM and that makes all other
programs slow down.
