I have the same problem. Using nv works but without 3D, so I use kernel
.12 with nvidia awaiting new update. These are the kinds of mistakes
that will drive people back to Vista/XP if they try out Ubuntu, so

to use a password for login and then it should also not be used after
suspend.

Incidentally this is the config I used to use on Feisty (have a script
to swich between a bunch I made up for various locations since there was
no manager for dual screens). I've tried this one to no avail.

well actually this is in BETA still so as long as they don't pull this
stunt with any Official releases then that's alright to a
that second 95 was suppose to be just 98FE.

After discussing this problem with you on the #ubuntu irc channel last
night in detail.
I believe this is not a bug and your drive actually has a fault.
Unless you can provide evidence that your drive is working beyond "it
used to work" I suggest this bug be closed.

That seemed to work. Updated, uncommented the Synaptics entry in
xorg.conf and rebooted -- This time login proceeded without any
gllitches. Of course, the mouse cursor now moves slow as molasses with
the touchpad now when it was fast before, but that's a different issue,
and a minor one.
