I have also such a problem, NetworkManager taking 100% CPU all the time,
making it impossible to do CPU-intensive tasks like compiling. I can
access the wired only after choosing manual configuration in the left-
click menu of the NM tray applet and setting the wired network to
DHCP/automatic there

I log in nm-applet needs the WPA key.

After some upgrades, I tried compiz --replace to refresh and use the new
compiz-fusion just upgraded, it broke the border around windows. Anyhow, the

No, it is absolutely wrong for the devices to be world writable. Users
should not directly access them, this is reserved to the daemons (cupsys
and hplip). On a related note, users shuold not be in group 'lp', so I
wonder how that worked before. Printer administrators should be in
'lpadmin' only.

Just to chime in... I downloaded the upstart source, applied the diff,
compiled, and installed updated 0.2.7-7.2 debs on a running edgy system
here. Everything worked perfectly, both before and after a reboot. I
can't think of any obvious way to test the network install here locally,

file to your bug report after configuring your screens with
