I saw that 1 procesess was using up all of the cpu. This was udevd, so I killed
this process and started it up again with sudo udevd --daemon. After this I did
a safely remove, deattached the device and re-attached again. And now I was
able to access the sd-card.

I was installing an OS on VMware at the time and wasn't using or calling

openoffice documents (bug 25827) so it's probably caused by something
you installed for seeing the previews.

Compiz does not count as that won't run out-of-the-box with fglrx

My graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (Dell Latitude D830 laptop).
It didn't work for 7.04 until I installed "envy" and using it I
downloaded the proper drivers.
I upgraded to 7.10 without any problem using the update manager. I'm

Binary package hint: nautilus
I inserted a USB key and a nautilus window on /media/disk appeared.
I unmount using the disk mount applet, and I get the error message that
an application is blocking the operation.
Checking with lsof :
$ lsof /media/disk

this is not the awn. i know that the awn installation was somehow
corrupted, but this is past, awn is removed completely. my default dock
now is thrown out of its way...
