Ubuntu's 64-bit platform is becoming more popular, especially with
software developers. It would be great if we could have a
"gcc-x86-32-cross" meta-package to ease the learning-curve of
discovering which libraries and tools need instal
I've tried some qt4 applications (in feisty, using qt4 version 4.3.0),
and they all show the menu always on the same screen no matter which
screen the program is on. This makes it a real PITA to use qt4 apps.

I made a recent update of Power Manager to the version 2.20.0 and I am
now having some problems, after this update it left to control the
brightness of my PC and doesn't Dim the display when Idle for x
seconds/minutes.
My PC is a Lenovo T61 with a Intel 945 chipset, I'm using Gutsy version.
Note:
Looks like I wasn't completely right above. I don't know yet whether
userspace is using the ioctl or not, but it seems that calling the ioctl
directly also fails when X is frontmost.
Among other things I've noticed:
- the APM emulation module isn't loaded by default.
- the kernel isn't switchin
In fact the plugin also retries openvpn as often as possible during the
interval.

Hi,
Has anyone been able to get their sound working on A205-S4577 laptop with
Gutsy (kernel 2.6.22-12-generic). I know many people have got it working on
other models or other kernel versions. I have tried all their methods and it
has failed.
Please let me know if anyone of you has a same model of
