Public bug reported:
hello!!
i haven't wifi since update of kernel 2.6.22-12.
when i look with dmesg i have this errors:
[ 40.890016] ieee80211_init: failed to initialize WME (err=-17)
[ 40.904588] rc80211_simple: Unknown symbol
iwlwifi_ieee80211_rate_control_unregister
[ 40.904689] rc802
I Re-installed the two vte library applications, libvte9 and libtve-common and
the terminal is working again. I had the xubuntu desktop installed and when I
removed this it must have damaged these 2 applications.
All sorted now, thanks for the advice

I followed this guide:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/93002/comments/10
with the newest OOo and it works lovely!
I also deleted the in my case (OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221)
with:
sudo rm -rf OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221
and the tar.gz files

Hi guys
I'm encountering this problem too
I think it could be reated to a Timing Issue since i only encounter this
problem since the HZ options in kernel appeared, did ubuntu change to
1000HZ?
I mean if i generate cpu load it seems to badly poll data from
temperature sensors

I've had the same problem on my ASUS P4B mainboard computer.
It seems that acpi=ht is forced because this mainboard is present. This
leads to acpi only be enabled until hyper-threading would be activated.
As my proc won't support hyperthreading, this is not usefull.
I found that only acpi=force
just after starting a "make" for kernel compilation when i manually do a
cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS0/temperature
i get very fast this results increasing really really badly in 1 or 1.5 seconds
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/mburgener# cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS0/temperature

I am using Gnome.

This guy on freenode #ubuntu+1 had working sound in feisty and now it doesn't
work in gutsy.
He ran a script which dumped all the alsa info (the output is posted below).
His sound card was

Sorry Michael, but I haven't learnt to make patches yet. Could I suggest
that you just change the text from "filename" to "file path"? That's
what the feature is really doing.
