There is currently no way to minimize or switch away focus from a full screen
window like a game.
The standard shortcuts like Alt+Tab used by the window manager are ineffective
because the X input is grabbed by the application.

If you still do not get it working, do
ps auxwww | grep hpssd | grep -v grep
If a process is listed, kill it via
sudo kill -9
The process ID is the number directly after the user name.
Then do
python /usr/share/hplip/hpssd.py -ldebug -x > hpssd.log 2>&1 &
and start the hp-toolbox. When the
reassign the report for python; won't be changed for any released python
version. it's likely to be changed by upstream in py3k.

For me the subdirectory is called Music", which is also what appears in
the Library field in Preferences (looks like the app is internally
working with a string of the form "$HOME/Music"). Selecting the correct

This issue happens with Feisty with no desktop effects operative too. I
am running Feisty and not just the keyboard, but also the mouse has
weird behaviour at times. NO XGL and NO Beryl running
This does not happen all the time. Seems kind of random but everyday
happens a couple of times at least.
I was getting this problem. I changed my bios settings for my SATA disk
to Compatabilty Mode and Ubuntu then booted without any problems.

Problem still occurs in feisty and gutsy. It is caused by
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/60sabayon_apply script. Because of 'set -e' at the
beginning of Xsession script any command that won't return true will stop whole
Xsession script. /usr/sbin/sabayon-apply returns 1 if the profile is not set

Another update, after further testing/several reboots:
- halt works, both with HD install and liveCD (I was wrong in my initial
description!)
- reboot doesn't work, neither with HD nor liveCD of Feisty; it hangs the
machine to the point of having to hold the power button pressed for 10 seconds
