For me the subdirectory is called Music", which is also what appears in
the Library field in Preferences (looks like the app is internally
working with a string of the form "$HOME/Music"). Selecting the correct
folder in the Library field in Preferences fixes what appears in this
field, but doesn't fix the reported problem: if deleted, the "$HOME
directory and its subdirectory is recreated (at least) at each startup
of the application.

This might only happen on fresh installs, or at least it doesn't happen
on my laptop where I upgraded from the previous version.
