I have a similar problem. When trying to disconnect/unmount my usb hard
drive (Samsung SpinPoint) by right-clicking the icon on the desktop, I
get the 'cannot eject volume' error message and the drive reopens.
The only way to unmount the volume for me is using the console:
sudo umount /media/disk

for these sound apps ; I wihed thi could have been clearly diagnosed by

I hadn't tried this the last week or so, but it seems to be fixed now.
I'm not sure what was causing it, have any parts of gstreamer been
updated? I don't think totem itself has been updated. Anyhow, i've put
it on rejected since, it is not reproduceable anymore.

I have Feisty Fawn, java packages sun-java6-* and cups version 1.2.8.
When I tried to print from my Java application a message "No print
service found" appeared. I googled a solution - create a file

The above is not the same problem. That's the first problem I had with
Ubuntu and can be solved by adding the acpi=off option.

Jack, I too feel that regression bugs are a drag... don't know if other
distros are any better, maybe Debian... but then again you'll have to live
with pretty obsolete software from time to time if you use it.
Anyhow, if Ubuntu has a bigger problem with regressions than other distros, my
guess
