On the other hand as a wish to implement simpler default language handling it's IMHO valid. The default language during installation can be found with: debconf-get-selections --installer | grep debian-installer/language AFAIU installing other pkgs from a postinst will not work (due to locking) so implementing a 'autoinstall-default-language-pkgs' it not easy.
