I haven't tested it in a while but I think it wouldn't work with higher
resolution monitors. ATM I am using the standard i810 driver for LFP and
the i810-modesetting driver for external. Interesting point is since I
created a script to switch between this drivers the resolution is always

OK, fsfn doesn't work at all for this situation (just crashes as soon as

Found the problem!
Compiling Firefox with support for pango (--enable-pango) fixes the
problem. Apparently, pango support is only enabled for some localized
versions of Firefox in Ubuntu.
I know this is a cheap workaround but it solves the problem. Without
pango support, the DPI setting has no ef

Oh wait, I see the problem. Your script you link to copies the module
to the wrong directory; it should copy it to /lib/modules/$(uname
-r)/etc... rather than a hardcoded path to 2.6.20-15-generic.

since I only use the "plain client" without manager, the following
procedure worked for me (probably very unprofessional, but I wanted the
work done!)
(prerequisite: BOINC was normally installed via apt-get/aptitude and is
working)
- stop boinc
- download the actual linux/x86 version

my Canon 650U scanner under Feisty.

Correction, no, the scanner just makes a noise when initialized when I
open xsane, but it can't preview or scan.

For clarity about the bug:
Evolution always prints in A4 despite what is in /etc/cups/ppd/ or
/etc/papersize. I believe it may have to do with the cairo rendering
engine as I also found this bug

More testing revealed that
1) the problem still persists with Gutsy's linux-image-2.6.22-5-generic and
2) the problem is probably caused by the CD-ROM firmware, replacing the Mitsumi
drive with a Plextor drive fixed the problem: the Plextor was correctly
detected as CD-ROM, whereas the Mitsumi i

I didn't answer to Sam Cater's comment, since it was obvious that he
didn't read the original report. The package built fine locally, but
doesn't build on Ubuntu's buildds.
