Think I managed to get some debug - started my PC with dri disabled.
Then stopped X server and then set debug on drm. Set dri to load in
xorg.conf and and restarted X server. My PC seemed to write a large

I'm sorry I only realized this now. The method that was mentioned in the
forum required building a driver from source. Upgrading the kernel would
break the module IIRC, more so if there was an ABI bump.

(and put Windows in a small partition as 2nd S.O.).
