The more I think about it the more unsure I am of where to move this bug
to. I'm going to try gnome-terminal to see what they make of it (perhaps
its gnome-session related?) but I have speculatively changed the title
in case it needs to be marked against the binary drivers.

On the feisty platform I have, I no longer get crashes.
However, my feisty machine is a dual core machine, and my edgy machine
is a single core machine. Since this is a race condition, the number of
cores may be an issue.

I can also confirm this bug. I tested it with two machines and the bug
is the same. After reboot cube is not working anymore.

I am having the same problem when typing (backspace, delay and repeats). It
happens in recovery mode too.

Mmmh... I finally decided to start m$ OS : it's also reporting a 7600GS card.
The only place I can see it's a 7300GT card is at boot, where the graphic card
bios loads.
I finally may indeed have this kind of card - 7600GS seems anyway
similar to to 7300GT, so I guess this is probably not a linux/

Using synapic on Ubuntu 7.04, I unsuccessfuly installed vmware-player
(the configuration failed)
After that I tryed to install virtualbox (using the gdeb installer) it

Did you run update-mime?
/usr/lib/mime/packages/* are used for creating /etc/mailcap.
I don't know if GNOME/KDE apps make use of /etc/mailcap or have their
own MIME database.

I'm sorry, perhaps I didn't make my very clear. I think this a bug,
because it tries to to download packages, even though I told it not to.
And the only thing I can do is wait for it to finish, or else it fails
to upgrade the system.

Did you install using the desktop CD or the alternate install CD? I ask
because squashfs in Feisty is known not to detect errors properly, which
can often cause issues like this; the upstream maintainer of squashfs
has been working on this, and it should be corrected in Gutsy
