I have experienced this bug on Kubuntu 7.04 beta amd64 with all of the
latest updates. When attempting to watch a DVD or access the xine
configuration ("xine Engine Parameters"), Kaffeine crashes to the KDE

I have found a workaround for making suspend work, finally, using the nvidia
drivers. I had the same resume problem, whether or not compiz/beryl was
enabled, but now suspend works very fine :-)

I have writen a fix for this bug.
I think the problem isn't in the openvpn plugin, because it only told
networkmanger that there is no nameserver. I think the problem is that
networkmanger write a resolv.conf with no nameserver when activating a device.
So that's the reason why my patch

2.6.20-15-generic :( My next step may be to manually install 2.6.21.1.

Yes indeed, they do not state how to do it on boot. Nevertheless,
restarting HAL in debug mode will give out the same sequence of messages
that you would get on boot (or very much nearly so, or thereabout). So
doing it after boot would still help us.

Activate and Deactivate are greyed out. The modem is turned on and off by going
instead,
Modem-monitor -> Properties -> Check or uncheck the mod

The scanbuttond workaround worked for me too (LiDE25 scanner).
I installed the package scanbuttond with synaptic.
I entered the command
scanbuttond
as a normal user from a Terminal window.
Magically both xsane and xscanimage started working,
both as a standalone and with gimp.

Fixed Upstream . Now , when you select a time (!= never) the radio
button is toggled automatically to "custom backup settings". If you
toggle it back to 'manual backup only' the time is set to "Never"

I tried to run /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh directly and get nearly the same output
as in bug #94332 (an error that acpi_sbs module is not found).
Maybe some of you should also try to run the hibernate script directly and
check the output.
