I did actually discover that the older version of the package I needed was
still available, so I managed to get this to work by forcing the older
version using synaptic. If you select the libglu package in Synaptic, click
Properties and go to the Version tab, you should see it still available.

Sorry. From nautilus I double-clicked on a local mp3 file to open it. The
wizard to easy install the necessary gstreamer ugly plugin worked very smoothly
and then the magnatune plugin in Rythmbox worked.

Same problem here. I've got this problem on a HP 510 laptop. I don't
think I had this problem when I installed the beta but got it later on.
I'm not sure whether or not this started happening when I installed some
updates or when I first used the hibernate functionality.

I was not aware there were T60p's with AMD architecture. For the
record, I have a t60p with a core duo (x86/32) and an ATI FireGL 5200
card, and I see the same thing. More specifically, as the machine is
coming back up, I see what looks like a flash of virtual terminal, and
the backlight comes on
Previously the bug was reproducible simply by typing any multi-segmented
text to the gnome-terminal using anthy. However, it has not occurred
again after my most recent reboot. I have just submitted an apport

for my edgy installation (and several other options for those menu
entries as well). Every time feisty updates its kernel I have to go

Also when I boot without headphones plugged, the laptop speakers stay

FIXED!!
I have tried slune in feisty 7.04 beta and get the same problem I originally
got with slune in edgy 6.10 and dapper 6.06.
After doing some investigation and thinking into what Henning suggested above I
have found a solution that works for me. I can not use the proprietary drivers
from AT
