I have been trying to install Ubuntu 7.04 on a Toshiba Satellite
A15-S129. The live CD is hard locking up at "searching for filesystems"
during installation. This machine runs windows xp without issue.

Feisty has 'english (australia)' as default option. i suggest you try it
too. unfortunately feisty doesnt carry dictionaries, so you have a
correct locale, but cant check your spelling anyway.
also, it looks like it defaults to en_us for UI anyway, so although it
looks 'fixed', its verymuch not :)

Hi,
Just to let you know I'm running Feisty (herd 5) on a Dell D610. Using a
wired network I get similar problems (the network often fails to get a
IP address from DHCP after resume if the lease has expired).
Restarting the computer causes it to successfully get a IP address.

Would it be possible to create a squid-ssl package that enables SSL and
put it in multiverse or something? Get permission from the squid guys
to use a modified GPL that allows SSL.
Either that, or look into a GNU TLS version of squid.

Same problem as of today. Both i386 and amd64 versions.
I'm assuming that everyone reporting this problem doesn't have a floppy drive.
I got rid of the:
udev-event[2113]: run_program: '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit
by disabling the floppy drive in my BIOS. But unfortunately the
installer didn't

I did it this way because debian has both udev and dmraid at different
points in rcS, dmraid's point (what I'm trying to set to 11) is
dependent on ubuntu's place in rcS.d. This way, when dmraid needs to be
sync'd/merged again from debian, it will still remove a non S11 link if
it exists.

I can also confirm this problem. This never used to happen to me. The
only difference is that I am now using WPA instead of WEP security. This
may have something to do with WPA_Supplicant if other people have this

Windows, it found at least one error on the drive. I guess my point
isn't that there's a problem with FAT32 disk checking in Ubuntu, though
- it's that the partition gets scanned at boot by default, which will
take a long time

I was there when he had that crash. It is not easily reproducable. It
claimed it had crash, but it didn't. I suspect this means a program or
task rhythmbox created had crashed.
Looking at ProcStatus, it seems that its related to the indexing of

That's a small issue with my graphic card and
memory(physical), high heat, so, the bug take it´s all

It looks like revelation uses gnomevfs,URI to handle paths internally.
Spaces are escaped by replacing them with %20 (I guess other characters
like é cause the same issue).

Just ran into this myself on a Feisty install. The character data elisp
files all exist in /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/nxml-mode/char-
name/unicode, but the equivalent directory of compiled elisp files does
not exist under /usr/share/emacs21.

While I understand what you're saying, in fact there is a bug report
for just that case -- changing the scanning methodology, bug #59293 and
related to that bug #48806, I'm trying to make the behaviour of
dosfstools predictable.
