I solved the problem !
First I completely removed Gajim with Synaptic and I removed manually the
folders ~/.gajim and /usr/share/gajim.
I think that came from an icons theme which I had installed (the
siteduzero_smileys).
Now it's good.

I disagree. A postinst script should not fail for reasons like this. It

I can confirm this, on amd64 with compiz version 0.3.6-1ubuntu10 and
compiz-extra 0.3.6.1-0ubuntu1.
Furthermore, upon adding a compiz-extra plugin to the active_plugins

So it looks like this may be the fallout of some filesystem corruption.
You can try to reinstall gconf2 and see if that helps, but given the
situation it maybe better to backup your data and reformat/reinstall.

@Arthur Penn: sorry, unfortunately there is no way around the /boot
check. Because deb package do not tell what data goes into what
directories it has to do some guessing (heuristics) for the kernel and
it has a rather large safety buffer to avoid runing out-of-space in boot
(very bad).

I can not replicate this bug on my Pentium WS.
My main ubuntu (6.10) is on /dev/hda9 ; and I have
just successfully tried to install 7.04beta on ''/dev/sda5''.

Yesterday ''grub'' failed while installing kubuntu 7.04 beta
on a Sempron 3100 Widescreen 1280x768 GeForce Go 6100
notebook.
