I started Xorg with verbosity 6. Notice that mode 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz is
identified as "valid" at lines 572, 728, 1256 and 2199.
xresprobe didn't produce anything when it was started with parameters
"nvidia" and "nvidia lcd", so I started ddcprobe. I hope it will be

By digging the web deeper, I found that removing all modules, then
giving the following command:
setpci -s 03:0b.2 4c=0x22
then inserting sdhci only (and not the tifm_* drivers) makes my sd cards
work, and that's enough as a workaround. Notice that in the above

I checked on my laptop ... In fact, kernel -11 is installed and
restricted modules also ... I have all the latest updates for all the
packages, but it still won't work ...
I guess the WiFi card is still recognized, as in the properties I can
choose my network (ESSID) and it even gives me

Laptop ? No, it's a desktop machine.
I just ran dpkg-reconfigure. By default it selected the 'vesa' driver.
Once I selected the 'nv' driver by hand, obviously it worked, except that it
didn't ask me the timings of my monitor, so I had to edit xorg.conf by hand
anyway.

so taking 'head -n 1' from your output gets us:

There are a lot of images placed there that the UI uses. We put all the
icons that are used for launchers, etc. in the correct places in
/usr/share. We keep to ourselves in our folder in /usr/lib so this
really isn't a problem.
