I can confirme that bug on my new desktop with MSI motherboard, the
problem is certainly the Jmicron chipset. Desactivate it, permit a clean
boot, with my previous installation of Feisty, but installation from a
cdrom of Herd5 on that port become then impossible.

OK, based on the list of packages provided by Scott Lewin, I uninstalled
network-manager, network-manager-gnome and ubuntu-desktop (since ubuntu-desktop

Allowing cores for packaged programs if ulimit permits is sufficient for
our needs.
We actually adjust ulimit early in the process because we want customers
to optionally submit cores for debugging. (Glad to hear VMware software
doesn't dump core for you ;-) - I wish our betas were that robust!).

I believe i am experiencing the same problem: feisty livecd (32-bit - I
haven't tried 64) won't boot, "acpi=off" and/or "irqpoll" seem to have
no effect.
I'm running an E6600 on an ASUS P5B (Intel P965 Express, Intel ICH8,
JMicron JMB363, Realtek Gigabit LAN, SoundMAX Audio) with an NVidia
7300GT
The solution is to manually install libjack0.80.0-0 until the package is
updated. supercollider depends on a specific version of the shared
library. The version is in the name of the dependacy.
supercollider would need to be tested with the latest version of libjack
to make sure that there are no

Hi, I just wanted to confirm this bug during an install of Herd 5, also
on an Intel MB, a DG965PZ.
I haven't had a chance to run through the debugging tests listed here,
however I can confirm that it happened during three boots of the livecd,
but no longer exists when booting from an installed sys
the same problem, LabPlot crash when i try to import an origin 7.5
project using ubuntu 6.10

I opened the File relax-recover-concept.odt which ist the Description of Relax
which was stored on the Desktop.
This file is downloadable from Sourceforge.
When the Splash-Screen of OpenOffice appeared the Panel disapeared.
Then OpenOffice.
Seems to work now. Thank you.
