Hm, libgphoto2 currently claims to support photo downloading from this
device. We can disable support in libgphoto2, but I would only want to
do this if this thing is indeed not really capable of making and
downloading photos.

Always reproducible, here are the steps:
1) Open nautilus,
2) Type ctrl-z,

You don't need to reinstall your machine because of every small error.

Did you start nmap as unpriviledged user? Nmap does not use ICMP echo
requests when run as unpriviledged user, instead it sends a SYN packet
to port 80 of the target.
If you want to be sure to use icmp ping types, use the -PE, -PP and -PM
options of nmap and be sure to have the right priviledges.

gphoto2 can download and upload files to this device,
both images and music.
While it is not a camera, it is a MTP based player, and
it is fully supported by libgphoto2/gphoto2.
(perhaps it should not get detected as camera, but otherwise it is
fine.)

Hebrew text is displayed in Firefox. For example, in the Wikipedia

This is also a problem, as network manager doesn't handle WPA2 phase 2
properly and I need to use wpa-supplicant in order to access the wlan at
my university. Tthe "if link is up, don't report offline" would work in
this case.

While having 5 other tabs open, Firefox crashed while filling a text
form at http://forum.ubuntu-fi.org/. The addition installed is
MediaPlayerConnectivity. None of the tabs contained any streaming
content, though.

I'm not able to reproduce this locally, with the latest yelp trunk.
Can you attach the schema file that caused the problem? Can you run
