Hi, I saw this behaviour with feisty with kernel 2.6.20-8.
My laptop is an ASUS F3JC with intel HDA audio and the ALC660, I'm running
kubuntu.
When the phones are unplugged, I have no sound at all in the speakers. When I
plug the headphones in, sound comes from the speakers,
I have been unable to reproduce this on Feisty x86_64 using
openoffice.org version 2.1-2ubuntu4. What version of OpenOffice do you
have installed? You can check with 'dpkg -l openoffice.org'.

Kris is correct w.r.t. my original intent.
This applies to source code of any kind from any platform; and to a
large extent any Unix-style formats that are specially parsed but also
