I was running a sh file with the following command and mencoder simply crashed
after a while.

I would say that it isn't a bad thing. It's actually a quite clever marketing
trick to get the product name (in this case Ubuntu) into users/customers minds.

Start a gnome session at the server console, open gnome-chess, menus are
all "-", Black and White are readable but nothing else is! Do the same
connecting remotely using XWin32 and everything works OK. There are

I changed the the usage of "bugnumbers", "--stats" is now a option.

i found a natilus log file, which was very large and had many entries
which mentioned a problem due to "signal = 11"
unfortunately, i cannot find the log file anymore, so i cannot be more
precise, but perhaps this is helping.

Still it's a problem in 2.6.17-10-generic. After changing to edgy, I can't burn
even normal CDs. Recompiling packaged from feisty doesn't help (didn't think it
will - problem is in both cds and dvds now).

Do you get a error dialog or a warning before the crash happens? I think
I fixed it in my local tree, but additional information would be helpful
as I can not reproduce it here.

Same problem here, I'm running 1.0~rc1-0ubuntu3 with Feisty up-to-date.
I get an error when I'm trying to watch a video:

Probably because the relevant version only existed in the archive for
a few hours and therefore never was picked up by your local mirror
when it did

Centrino to 1,73 GHz. When the laptop is connected to the AC, the CPU
works ONLY and ALWAYS at 1,73 GHz, even with the "Ondemand" option on.

I've marked this as rejected, since the bug is not the use of ==, it is
the fact that $1 is not quoted. == is the correct bash operator, but it
requires two arguments. By not quoting $1, == gets only one operator
when laptop_mode is invoked without arguments.
Really, laptop_mode should check for a
