A new attempt with the MinimalCD install completed successfully with the
release of the delayed 2.6.17-11 kernel. It did fail part-way though

My installer crashed while attempting a kubuntu 6.10 install. My crash
may be due to different reasons, but seems similar enough to post here.
Set up included preparing a dual boot config laid out on /dev/hda1:
partition1(primary)=xp 11.74GB
partition2(extended)=
hda5=/boot 128MB

I cannot reproduce this issue.

I have 11,000 songs in my collection. Granted importing/exporting and
updating can be slow at times, but I have timed the same collection

Amarok 1.4.5. But in case you aren't, what version are you using?

my laptop (1280x800). Are you using 1024x768 by chance? I have seen
issues in the past when you run less than *x800.

I am unable to reproduce this. I have plugged in extra speakers and
cranked them up as well and went through 5 minutes of navigation and
couldn't pick up any noticeable sounds.

a bit more of info: I ran gdb on NetworkManager, and it seems to go as
far as line 851 in NetworkManager.c ( a call to g_main_loop_run()). It
never returns from there.
