I've updated to Feisty. Now google earth is totally unusable, even worse
than dapper. drmWaitVBlank still happens and playing a movie doesn't

I looked into /var/crash but nothing is there and also that error doesnt
show up now. That dmesg I posted before was from first run after
install... But the lockups are here now again, but I dont have to

I didn't find a new binary package in edgy-proposed, but I found the source
package 0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-2build0.1~proposed1 there.
I installed with
$ sudo apt-get -b source xmms-sid
$ sudo dpkg -i xmms-sid_0.7.4+0.8.0beta15-2build0.1~proposed1_i386.deb
and it works nicely.

Hibernation here also fails since 2.6.20-5-lowlatency or the like with
me.

My only concern would be that a previous version of the Feisty kernel
worked. Some change in the Herd 3 kernel snagged in VirtualVox.
However, so long as VirtualBox is the only environment where this
happens, I think its fine to close. Thanks.

OK folks,
I got tired of having to be careful not to have my xserver-xorg-core
package upgraded, and dug a bit around package building.
Apparently adding an entry in the changelog file with a new version
number should be good, after having applied the patch, of course.
Now, in order not to break
so - it seems that this is a "feature"...
when i changed show_cpufreq_ui to true in gconf-editor i could change
the values again.
why is this off by default? is not that high-level a decision that it
should be hidden i think...
