Thank you for filing this bug.
The konqueror shortcut shipped by default says "web browser" in the
description, so I want to point out that it's clear that it will be
launched in webbrowsing mode.
For file browsing, there's the places menu.
Are you aware of the "konqueror profiles" kicker applet

The issue with gnome-power manager seems to have been fixed for feisty
(Bug #61148), but libnotify still seems to show some notifications at
the wrong place on Feisty.

I have taken some time last night to create a newer patch against the
linux-source-2.6.20-6-generic tree using the bits and pieces from the
toshiba_acpi.c driver found in linux-source-2.6.17 tree. This new patch
is a combination of the backlight feature and the hotkeys functionality.

As of 2.6.20 the linux kernel supports software suspend with swap files
in addidion to swap partitions. Please enable this from feisty 7.04
onwards.

On edgy with totem-gstreamer I tried to use the wvx files available at
http://www.wsa.soton.ac.uk/choosing-wsa/streaming-video/default.asp
There was no player known for this file. I have the necessary codecs for
windows media player, so browsing to /usr/bin/totem in firefox caused
totem to fire up
