/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base" on the slot 0.
BUT I still consider this an issue that is worth fixing. Less tampering

I also tried to update to Edgy by the command "sudo sh
/cdrom/cdromupgrade". However, I got the same error as the people above
(can't find DistUpgradeViewGtk). After reading this thread I installed
"python-vte" in the hope it could solve my problem. Unfortunatly it

Agreed. But why does it work with keyphrase (i.e. drop me to a "shell") and not
with keyfile (don't do anything)?

For me, it installs fine on Dapper. But sadly,
/etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php (in which I changed some values) has

I can duplicate this on my laptop with Edgy. Also with a radeon x700
Step 1) On the menu go to System > Preferences > Power Management
Step 2) On the battery power tab, select a time to "Put Display to Sleep"
Step 3) Wait X amount of minutes and the screen will go black, however the
backlight re

right place to put it so I won't confirm it myself.

The solution for me was to use dmix. As sad as it is... even new cards
can't handle multi sound and record very well. wether the driver or the
hardware. Both could even be to blam.

Can you attach (do no paste into comments) via the web interface the
output of "dmesg" with and without working ps2?
Perhaps use USB keyboard during this test to produce the needed output.

Ideally, could you use a usb keyboard to install, install ssh, remove
the keyboard, and boot with a ps2 connected. Then, ssh in, and run
"dmesg" and attach the output to this bug, please.
Also, does this effect edgy?
