As a side note, this is related to the UPS support in HAL through NU
The failed installation apparently stopped when launching grub. In
fact, the partitions I wanted were populated, the /boot/grub dir was
populated, but menu.lst was not there.
I discovered that /dev/hdc is in fact (hd1), not (hd2), so I launched
the installer again, telling it to reformat the root

I had a few text windows open. Then I closed them. I think I clicked in
the window a few times. From what I recall I switched focus to the
desktop. Then the application crashed. Something along this line was
what caused the crash.

Yesterday I installed dapper (6.06 LTS) on my machine at work and ran
updates rebooted a few times due to other config changes, such as NIS
and NFS. I left it on overnight and this morning I found it had consumed
almost all my memory and swap space (1GB RAM and 2GB of swap).
Thank you for your bug. The crash seems to not be a GNOME one, rather
happening to glibc. The crash file is not really useful though and if
the bug only happened once it'll not be easy to work on the bug.

I can't install the ssh server so it's hard to copy and paste the
results here, but I've also encountered this. Due to problems I'm
having with a CD drive, I can't install edgy, but dapper installs fine.
I think the CD drive isn't perfect.
Anyway, I'll type in what I can see. This is upgrading f
it's not "unreasonable", GNOME applications just try to not get hundred
of configuration options and rather adopt the right behaviour. There is

Murray says "I can't sync", but it's not clear whether this is just an
example of the known Edgy problems (i.e. with gnome-
pilot-2.0.14-0Ubuntu2) or something else. He could try installing the
packages I rolled (see gnome bug 365181, comment 14) and see if that
fixes matters.
