I have fresh install edgy amd64.
I removed openoffice, so metapackage ubuntu-desktop was removed too.
After that apt-get autoremove suggest that gedit, gnome-games, gnome-
themes, tangerine-icon-theme and few other packages are auto-
removable... I think apt-get autoremove should not work like tha
I don't have access to that laptop anymore, and so I cannot test with
6.10. Unfortunately, I don't know for sure which Ubuntu CD I had used
for installing (or whether I still have it), so I cannot test it for

I have this with all cryptsetup packages I could install

Well, if we are to put focus on a desktop of Xubuntu that "just works"
(as the slogan goes for Ubuntu, see http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop), it
is well worth fixing bugs in the current LTS version, IMO, and leave
refining and adding features to newer versions. I feel stupid reporting

I just noticed that if I reinstall those packages marked autoremovable,
then, after reinstall apt no longer marks them auto removable. I just
think that i should not mark those kind of packages at the first
place...

I'm running KDE. If I try to view the xorg.conf man page by typing
Alt+F2
#xorg.conf
Enter
or by typing
man:/xorg.conf
into a Konqueror address box, I get a busy cursor, an empty Konqueror
window, and almost 100% CPU use. Clicking the normal Close button at
the top right
Are you still having this problem? What version of (K)ubuntu?

I'm not really that clear on what the documentation project produces,
yet. Is it meant to help develop existing documentation for individual
components, like man pages and KDE Handbooks, or develop separate
documentation for whole Ubuntu distributions, or what?

There is no device like /dev/mice/input on my system. I am sure...
This problem with Ubuntu and KVM switch was solved long time ago, before
6.06.1 was released. It works OK now, it is OK for several months. This
bug can be closed.

Robert, do you have any other way of detecting that process is waiting
for user input apart from watching for silence? dpkg frontend is using
curses interface, maybe hooking into it would help?
If that's not the case, I guess waiting for silence for, let's say 1 minute,
indicates that process is

With the media patches in edgy, choosing open in new window opens up
konqueror with /meda/cdrom0 and you can see the contents of the DVD.

I have the same issue. Im attaching my test program.
setlocale is returning NULL
the same program runs fine on suse and gentoo.
Is this a libc issue? does ubuntu modify libc?
