Which model R52 are you experiencing this issue with? I suspect that
this is an ATI-based model.

It "feels" warmer than when I was running Debian and seems to get warm
quicker. It also doesn't appear to run on batteries
Sorry, I have to make a correction: It seems that not only pasted events
are affected. Actually some events are synced and others are not and I
cannot tell the difference between those who are synced and those who
are not. There does not seem to be any rule for this behavior.

I can confirm this bug. It's been around for a while and hits me every
now and then when running Ubuntu, no matter what version (I've tried
breezy, dapper, edgy, feisty). I don't know if there will ever be a
final fix released for this but I'm sure everyone is doing their best to

A bit of clarification: what happened was that the config of a package
(pcmcia-cs I think) caused a hard crash + reboot. Thus, on reboot, I
needed to manually invoke dpkg form the command line to finish off the
install. At that point it would have been nice to have a message saying

Also the Mathematica plugin (as well as the Maple and Maxima plugins) is
broken in Ubuntu Edgy, since the file tm_mathematica.c is missing from
the distribution.
The simple fix is to go to the page www.texmacs.org, download an rpm for
the last version of texmacs (1.0.6.7), ex
The code will first check
/var/lib/update-manager/meta-release
and only if that fails use $HOME (sudo doesn't change $HOME by default).
What are the permissions of that file for you?

I suspect this to be a unionfs issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Boot on Edgy Live CD i386
- When desktop is ready, open a nautilus window for ~
- Open another window for somewhere deep e.g:
/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/usb
- In a terminal, do
cd ~
sudo

The description of the bug does not reflect the subject of the bug
report, but the subject is correct: text/texmacs mime extensions are not
correctly recognized in gnome, so that it is not possible for instance
to open a .tm document by just clicking on it.

Texmacs does not register text/texma
I just test it on a fresh Edgy install, and all files belongs to group www-data
(only cgi.cfg is root:root).
Did you do something (run an external configuration script for Nagios) that
could have change this ?

Thanks for your bugreport.
If you still can find a google-earth deb package in
/var/cache/apt/archives/, then please try to install it with "dpkg -i
fullpath/to/package/" and remove it later with "dpkg --purge google-
earth". This is the the best I can do for now.
