Public bug reported: Also the Mathematica plugin (as well as the Maple and Maxima plugins) is broken in Ubuntu Edgy, since the file tm_mathematica.c is missing from the distribution.
The simple fix is to go to the page www.texmacs.org, download an rpm for the last version of texmacs (1.0.6.7), extract the directory plugin/mathematica and use it to substitute the plugin in /usr/share/texmacs/TeXmacs/plugins. Everything should work then (checked with Mathematica 5.2). Please correct these bugs: texmacs is extremely useful as an interface to various mathematical programs, but the user should be allowed to run the plugins seamlessly. TeXmacs has the potential to become a standard for the production of scientific papers, and that's a pity that Ubuntu is not supporting it as it deserves (how is it that most bugs in TeXmacs are still unconfirmed although they are so easily reproduced and fixed?) ** Affects: texmacs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Mathematica plugin for TeXmacs broken in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/75581 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
