That actually doesn't work on my system -- it restores the DPMS timeout
too early and it gets overwritten again. Previously I had a sleep 20 &&
displayconfig-restore and similar lines for 20,30,and 40 second delays,
but even then when my system is under IO load and logging in, it would
not work.

Hi Nicolas,
thank you for reporting.
Your problem is that you chat-partner does not see the same smilies that you
see?
Does he see a text representation of the smilies or isn't sent anything to this
user where a smilie should be?
Regards,
Lothar

It looks like config-method is not saved for your wireless connection
eth1.
You could try to manually edit ~/.gnome2/network-admin-locations/* and add:
config-method=1 to [eth1] for location with static IP
and:
config-method=2 to [eth1] for location with dynamic IP (DHCP)

I tried installing the Fesity package on the off-chance it might work on

Feisty until it is stable!
I extracted the .deb file manually, however, and it seems to work
alright. The bug (crash on export) is fixed in 0.6-3.

Bug confirmed. Neither rmmod ehci_hcd nor irqpoll are acceptable
solutions because ehci_hcd disables USB 2.0 support and irqpoll is
ridden with a lot of bugs for users (doing a quick irqpoll search on the
internet reveals this). Also, adding kernel options such as irqpoll for
all users should not a

After reading https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates I expect that
this is not a fix that would be allowed into Edgy anyway, but I'll still
put a patch together.
After working on the dvdreadsrc element quite a bit, I started to become
frustrated with its readability problems and general cruf
