Still a problem with Edgy, fresh install.
Lilo install works fine during the install, but I tried to reinstall
this bootloader later (using "rescue" from an edgy install cd) and I got
this error too.
I have same the kind of lvm installation than the one described on
description field of this bug.

The new package in Feisty does not work for me. I boot from a NVIDIA two
disk stripe set. To get my system to boot I have to append break=mount
on the grub commandline and then do something like:
modprobe sata_nv
modprobe dm-mod
dmraid -ay
exit busybox and then it boots correctly.

I'm having what sounds to be the same problem. With a clean (Kubuntu)
Edgy install, suspend/hibernate worked OK. After installing 'nvidia-
glx', they don't work - suspend/hibernate appears to take place, but on
resume the screen just stays blank and the system is unresponsive.

After some testing...
On my computer, the xdialog windows are not sized correctly: I can't read the

After a bit more investigation it turned out to be more related to the
order things were started on my system. Renaming the dmraid script to
zdmraid (so it's last in the sort order) seems to have helped on my
system.
If I did break=mount I could manually run dmraid -ay, and everything
would be fin

In /etc/default/acpi-support, there's an option to use S1 sleep
("standby") instead of S3 ("suspend to ram"). S3 was the culprit for me;
S1 works fine.

It is strange because the patch indicated in comment 4 is already
applied to the the 2.6.19 source tree (I checked). Also there is no
"disabling DMA" message like before. However, the fact is that DMA is
turned off, and hdparm doesn't allow me to turn it on.

Can't make this work..
With the new module the tablet works, but pressure is detected for a few
seconds. Then it drops to the minimum, and no matter how hard I press, all I
get is no pressure or minimum pressure. This happens under gimp and under
Inkscape.

Work around.
If anyone is still having issues with this I've found an alternative
solution. There is another CD burning app called brasero (also known as

The S3 ProSavageDDR K4M266 (PCI device id 5333:8d01) is one of the
devices supported by the xorg 'savage' driver. However, the
/lib/discover/pci.lst from the discovery1-data package lists the kernel
module to load as 'unknown' instead of 'Server:XFree86(savage)', as it
should
Please find a patch for /lib/discover/pci.lst included as an attachment.
P.S. I'm using Edgy with the 1.2006.01.14ubuntu2 discover1-data package.

I just wanted to point out that I also tested this by booting with the
Edgy LiveCD, specifying
break=break=casper-bottom
at the boot prompt, and then doing a:
chroot /root nano /lib/discover/pci.lst
in order to correct the pci.lst entry for this device.
