No, saned is not intended to be started automatically as it would block scanbd. This is also the reason you need inetd. So: /etc/default/saned should read "RUN=no" If I run scanbd -f it outputs "scanbd: dbus match type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.Hal.Manager'" on my installation. Does thi
