I beleive this bug also affects me. Ubuntu 12.04 32bit. Transmission
does not honor the download speed limit. It appears to be downloading at
the max speed, and is slowing my internet down too much.

I have same problem on Ubuntu 12.10 but alternative limits are ignored
as well in my case. It used to work fine on the same system a couple
weeks ago...

Still having this problem. If I set my download limit to be say 35kB/s,
it will constantly fluctuate between 0 and 100+kB/s. In the previsouly
working releases, a setting of 35 would hover around 33-36. The traffic
is being throttled, it's just far from a consistent speed. Having a
working throttle
I've found that this problem occurs only on some specific torrents,
similar to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=727994 reported
recently on Fedora . Actually the xonotic torrent I quote in my comment
one above always ignores any speed limits. That is a public torrent so
it should be easy
This bug is happening to me now on ubuntu 11.10 using gnome-shell and
transmission-gtk 2.50-0ubuntu1~oneiric1. Global and alternative speed
limits are ignored. E.g. happening on this torrent

Same problem here. Neither the regular speed limit or alternative speed
limit options are working. Ubuntu 11.10, 64-bit.

IMHO this is important. I won't use Transmission until this bug is fixed
because it makes the use of the interenet with other applications
impossible.

Same in my case, both not working.
All limits are ignored. I even tried the PPA in order to see if it's
fixed.
