It was obvious it was that package missing!Who knows what I'm thinking
sometimes:-)
Now it works!
In any case I've installed python-qt3 with:
sudo apt-get install python-qt3
this package wasn't installed before.
Could you check if it's installed when the control center with HPlip too
Could you please check and see if you have python-qt3 or python-qt4
installed? You could check via 'aptitude search python-qt'. Please add
the output of that command to your bug report. Thanks in advance.

this the output when I launch "hp-toolbox" from console:
error: PyQt not installed. GUI not available. Exiting.
error: PyQt/Qt initialization error. Please check install of PyQt/Qt and try
again.
