problems. I have a noticable drop in font clarity only in terminal.

Same problem here: gnome-terminal, gdebi package installer (the terminal
window) shows strange fonts...seems to me as the fonts smoothing isn't working
properly: i've tried with different dpi settings and different fonts, but i can
see this issue only in those 2 apps.
My monitor is a laptop lcd
