spreadsheet I attached in my last comment, whilst the original gnumeric
package does not.

I am also experiencing this problem, but am seeing it on my 32-bit
system. My output of dpkg -l \*gnumeric\* is as follows:

That was the first thing I tried. Also, the i386 machine does not have
gnumeric-plugins-extra installed.
