Hi,
I am having the same issue as reported in this report.
1) Issue started under Ubuntu 11.04
2) After upgrading to 11.10 still experiencing same issue
3) Printing works fine on same laptop under Windows 7 boot partition.
4) I'm also using an Officejet Pro K550
5) Currently running latest update
Closing for HPLIP as printer now works in different environment.

Thanks for providing the logs and info. error_log does not show any
problem and I am able to print the prn file (hpcups_job19.out) generated
by you by directly sending to a printer. I doubt something is wrong with
the USB connection. Please do the following things to help me further

For capturing the job you followed the commands too exactly. Do the
