This is my motherboard. I have a very similar problem. Sound does not
work at all on the front input. It works in Windows 7, so it is not a
hardware fault. The sound chip is:
VIA VT2021 codec
High Definition Audio
2/4/5.1/7.1-channel

60 days.]

Luke, thanks for your help. I've already turned up the volume level and
it didn't work. I also selected the "earphone connector", as you
suggested, but it didn't work either. Besides, when I selected "earphone
connector", it comes no sound from the speakers, so I changed back to
"analog output".

Thanks for your report. It appears that your volume is turned down below
50% or muted entirely. Please check that the volume level is set to a
reasonable amount. You can do so by clicking the speaker icon in the top
right hand corner of your screen, and adjusting the volume control found
in the dro
