I have a Dell vostro 3400 with ubuntu 11.04, the figerprint was
recognized with lsusb as:

after sudo update-usbids I got with lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 138a:0008 Validity Sensors, Inc. VFS300

To manage notifications
The vfs101 driver that's included in libfprint0 doesn't seem to work,
even if the USB id is changed to 138a:0008 (from :0001).
fprint_demo says "Device ready for use", but "Image capture" is "Not
implemented yet".
Trying to "Enroll" hangs at "Step 1 of 3" - the driver doesn't seem to work, no

I ran a quick lsusb which resulted in an update from what used to be
there...

And check that it is still referenced as vfs101 (I don't think it will)
